PM Urges Capital & Provincial Administration to Use LED Lights Made in Cambodia

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen has instructed provincial and provincial governors to use Cambodian-made smart lights (LEDs) to illuminate public streets and towns to reduce electricity prices and contribute to a green economy. 

The Prime Minister gave the order on the 11th anniversary of the operation of the Japanese company Minibia in the Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone on 1 December. 

PM Hun Sen said that on a long road if there are no cars passing by, this smart light will reduce the light and save electricity. 

He urged the capital-provincial governors to order intelligent light bulbs (LEDs) made in Cambodia by the Japanese company Minibia to use. 

Cambodia has a large source of clean energy compared to some countries in the region, with 60% of clean energy coming from hydropower and solar. 

The government is also continuing to expand the 90-megawatt solar-powered plant in Pursat province. 

HE Keo Rattanak, Director General of Electricite du Cambodge (EDC), also allowed Minibia to explore the possibility of building a solar power plant in Pursat province as well.
