Preah Sihanouk Province Boosts Investment with Special Incentives for 331 Projects

In a significant move to stimulate economic growth, the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Investment Promotion Working Group has rolled out special incentives for 331 stalled projects in Sihanoukville over the past year. This initiative aims to facilitate investment and promote development in the region, particularly within the construction and real estate sectors.

During a recent meeting chaired by H.E. Dr. Hean Sahib, the group reported that these 331 projects represent a total investment capital of approximately USD 4,753 million. This meeting served as a review of the progress made since the establishment of the special incentive program, which began in 2024 and continues into the first half of 2025.

H.E. Im Sokthy, Head of the Working Group Secretariat, highlighted the breakdown of the projects: among the 331, there are 153 stalled building projects, 142 new building-related projects, 24 expansion initiatives, and 12 existing projects that are currently under completion and implementation.

Beyond financial incentives, the working group is committed to supporting investors through a variety of services. These include assistance with enterprise registration, the coordination of essential infrastructure such as roads and sewage systems, and the issuance of necessary permits, including construction and tourism licenses. The group has also taken steps to resolve disputes through alternative means, organizing forums in collaboration with the provincial administration to foster investor dialogue.

This comprehensive approach to investment promotion not only benefits Cambodian businesses but also attracts foreign investors, aiming to create a favorable environment for economic development in the vibrant coastal region of Preah Sihanouk.

As these initiatives unfold, local leaders remain optimistic about the potential for growth and the revitalization of stalled projects, signaling an encouraging shift for the province’s economic landscape.
