Prime Minister Hun Sen Announces Project to Open New Cambodia-Vietnam border gate in Tbong Khmum Province

Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia has announced a project to open a new Cambodia-Vietnam border gate at Koh Thmor area in Tbong Khmum province to facilitate travel and trade between Cambodia and Vietnam.

He made the remark on the 45th Remembrance Day of “Journey to Overthrow the Pol Pot Genocidal Regime” in Koh Thmar village, Tonloung commune, Memut district, Thbong Khmum province, saying that 45 years have passed with many things have evolved between the two countries with deeper ties and many things have been done for the benefit of Cambodia-Vietnam.

He stated that the connected infrastructure in the Koh Thmor area had been developed, which will be able to open as an international port shortly.

“If border gate opened in this area, the two countries would have closer ties with trade channels, which are growing rapidly,” Samdech Hun Sen said.
