Private Firm Plans to Build Water Treatment Plant in Koh Kong

ANCO Water Supply is planning to construct a new water treatment plant on a 330-hectare plot in Kiri Sakor of Koh Kong province, in response to rapid growth in demand.

According to the official website of the Koh Kong Provincial Administration on 21 January, the project is currently under review, and officers from the Koh Kong Provincial Administration and the Ministry of Environment have already inspected the actual site.

After the inspection, the two government bodies supported the project, but requested the firm to provide appropriate compensation to the affected local community, study the project carefully, strongly cooperate with local authorities, and, most importantly, take into account the eco-system and wildlife.

At this stage, the company has yet to reveal details of either the investment figure or the timeline.
