Rehabilitation of 29 Flood-Damaged Phnom Penh Roads Over 50% complete

The rehabilitation of 29 flood-damaged roads across Phnom Penh is now over 50% complete, of which 16 of them have successfully been repaired and repaved.

According to the Phnom Penh Municipality, as of March 28, the working group had completed paving many roads around the ‘Gun’ roundabout (Old Stadium). The team is now paving Street 47, starting from the roundabout to Wat Phnom in Daun Penh district. Meanwhile, the next target is the damaged roads in Toul Kork district.

Last year’s floods damaged over 3,000 kilometres of infrastructure nationwide, with a budget of at least US$91 million needed to repair all of them. Among those, 29 roads in Phnom Penh were also severely damaged. (Read more)
