SCG Contractor Matching Platform to Improve Construction Industry

Cement and building material company Siam Cement Group (SCG) has launched a construction matching platform to improve construction industry standards in Cambodia.

Called SCG Contractor Matching Services, the platform allows homeowners and developers to find the right contractors and building materials for their project. Once customers register with the programme, the company will search for quality contractors that match the requirements of the project owners. The service is free of charge.

The initial programme was created to help homeowners and developers as well as to help generate incomes for Cambodian contractors. According to SCG’s Country Director Mr Somwang Manpimonchai, the challenges for homeowners and developers in Cambodia are the lack of skilled labour and constructors.

As part of the company’s commitment to improve the construction industry in Cambodia, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MLVT) to help Cambodia overcome those challenges through education and training courses. (Read more )

Meanwhile, the platform has recently received its first customer building a project in Sihanoukville. “The programme is good because I don’t have to search through construction sites, which is not easy” said the SCG Contractor Matching Services first customer Ms.Kheang Chendamony.

Interested homeowners and developers can find more details on the service platform through the company website.
