Significant Progress on National Road No. 7 Expansion

The ambitious project to expand National Road No. 7 from the Skun roundabout to Kizuna bridge is on track, achieving over 60% completion. This development marks a crucial milestone in the ongoing partnership between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the People’s Republic of China, enhancing connectivity for the citizens of Kampong Cham province.

During a site inspection on July 2, 2025, His Excellency Un Chanda, Governor of the Kampong Cham Provincial Government, expressed optimism about the progress of the project, which aims to widen the road from two lanes to four. The expansion covers a distance of 45.5 kilometers, linking Cheung Prey district to Kampong Cham city.

His Excellency Un Chanda emphasized that the project is proceeding as planned and adhering to high standards. He highlighted the importance of continuous collaboration among the provincial working group and the Department of Public Works to ensure that the construction meets quality expectations for long-term use.

It’s worth noting that the construction officially commenced in January 2023. This significant infrastructure project is being financed through a concessional loan from the Chinese government, underscoring the strong ties between the two nations. (Read more)
