Sihanouk Ville Has 1006 High-rise Buildings while 614 Frozen Buildings Await for Solution

As of today in Sihanoukville, there are a total of 1,006 high-rise buildings while among that, 614 frozen buildings have been waiting for the proper solution.

According to the official report received by the Construction and Property Magazine, there are a total of 902 high-rise buildings in Sihanoukville, a total of 1006 projects including :

– 59 projects, equivalent to 86 buildings, in Sangkat 1

– 99 projects, equivalent to 100 buildings in Sangkat 2

–  262 projects, equivalent to 311 buildings in Sangkat 3

– 482 projects, equal to 509 buildings, in Sangkat 4.

Among all of them, there are a total of 614 frozen projects: 336 projects were suspended, equivalent to 359 buildings, and 221, equivalent to 255 buildings, have been completed and suspended.

Besides, the other 61 projects are under construction, equivalent to 89 buildings while 284 projects have been completed and are in operation, equivalent to 303 buildings.

In an effort to restore investor confidence and stimulate market demand, the Cambodian government has unveiled a comprehensive package of measures aimed at resolving the stagnant investment projects in Preah Sihanouk.

The package of measures includes providing incentives to investors, streamlining the permit process, and encouraging the development of tourism projects. These measures aim to stimulate demand and encourage investment in the area, which will help to boost economic growth and create job opportunities.

According to the official letter from the Ministry of Economic and Finance released on 23 February 2023, the government will begin implementing these measures in April 2023 by conducting a study and analysis of the identified areas. (Read more)
