Sihanoukville Welcomes New Investment Incentives for Stalled Projects

The Cambodian government has announced special incentives aimed at revitalizing 17 stalled projects in Sihanoukville, which collectively represent an investment of approximately USD 280 million. The decision was disclosed on September 30, 2025, via the official Facebook page of the Investment Promotion Working Group in the region.

The incentives are designed to boost economic growth and job creation, with projected potential to generate around 2,195 jobs. The 17 projects include a diverse range of initiatives, such as a mixed-use commercial center, an aluminum processing factory, a pet supplies factory, a multi-functional building, and a hotel project, all of which are expected to contribute significantly to the local economy.

Since 2024, the working group has also made strides by approving incentives for a total of 392 projects, amounting to an impressive estimated capital of USD 7.801 billion. These projects are anticipated to generate 50,670 jobs across various sectors, with 186 focused on stalled buildings, 166 representing new investments, 25 tied to project expansions, and 15 for existing ventures.

The initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for investment, boosting employment, and enhancing the economic landscape of Sihanoukville. As these projects move forward, they are likely to play a crucial role in the region’s recovery and growth, driving further development and opportunities for the local community.
