Sihanukville Pumping Station to Start Operation by April

Four pumping stations in Sihanukville will start operation before the upcoming Khmer New Year, according to spokesman of Sihanoukville provincial administration.

“Those four pumping stations are 80% completed. This project will start to operate by April before upcoming Khmer New Year, if there are no obstacle in the construction process or technical error,” spokesman Mr Or Saroeun told Construction&Property Magazine on 21 March 2019.

Those 4 Stations are the big pumping station that are 8 to 11 meters wide with 15 to 20 meters long and are between 5 to 5.5 meters in depth. The stations will be equiped with 919m long concrete drainage system and HDPE pipe located at the Independence Beach, River Bank near Sokha hotel, Ou Sam Ath River Bank, and Ochheuteal Beach.

In addition, this project also has waste water treatment plant on 16 hectares of land in Ochheuteal Beach which can convert wastewater into clean water before it is release into the ocean. This plant can help reduce environmental impact to beach of up to 100% in dry the season and 80% in rainy season.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction (MLMUPC) H.E. Chea Sophara, promised to finish this project before Khmer New Year so people can visit this only beautiful coastal city.
