Six Cambodian Provinces Will Receive a $174 Million Investment, With Kratie Alone Getting $450 Million

Six provinces across Cambodia are set to benefit from a substantial economic surge as new investment projects totaling approximately $174 million prepare to break ground. This expansion is further bolstered by the official approval of a landmark $450 million tire manufacturing facility in Kratie province, highlighting a period of rapid industrial growth and diversification within the Kingdom.

The announcement follows the third One Window Service meeting of 2026, held on March 20 and led by His Excellency Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Committee under the Council for the Development of Cambodia. The meeting focused on reviewing and finalizing qualified investment project proposals that align with the nation’s strategic development goals.

A key highlight of the recent approvals is the massive tire and inner tube production plant located in the U.B.E. Snoul Special Economic Zone. With a total investment of $450 million, this project in Kratie province marks a significant step forward for Cambodia’s manufacturing sector, reflecting increasing investor confidence in the country’s industrial infrastructure and specialized economic zones.

In addition to the large-scale project in Kratie, the six newly greenlit initiatives representing $174 million in capital will be distributed across six provinces, collectively generating an estimated 3,500 jobs. These projects span various sub-sectors, with four primary industrial projects focusing on the manufacturing of Christmas trees, decorative lighting, and festive ornaments. Other industrial activities included in this wave of investment involve the production of chalk, plastic decorations, vehicle assembly, and the manufacturing of consumer goods such as toys, bags, and curtains, along with specialized printing services.

The agricultural and agro-industrial sectors also received targeted investment through a project centered on Pailin longan. This initiative involves the creation of a dedicated fruit plantation and the construction of a processing plant for cleaning and packaging. By integrating cultivation with modern processing, the project aims to strengthen Cambodia’s agricultural export capacity and provide sustainable economic opportunities for local communities.
