Special Investment Incentives Announced for Sihanoukville Projects

In a significant move to bolster economic growth in Sihanoukville, the Royal Government of Cambodia has approved special incentives for 35 investment projects, totaling approximately USD 327 million. This decision was announced during the recent 17th meeting of the Investment Promotion Working Group in Sihanoukville, chaired by Mr. Hean Sahib, Advisor to the Prime Minister, on June 25, 2025.

The meeting focused on reviewing various investment and business initiatives seeking incentives, concessions, and procedural simplifications under the ongoing special program aimed at promoting investment in the region. This program is set to continue through the end of 2025.

Among the 35 projects receiving incentives, there are 22 related to stalled buildings, 12 new ventures, and 1 expansion of an existing project. Collectively, these initiatives are expected to generate approximately 3,363 new jobs.

The projects encompass a wide range of developments, including special economic zones, industrial parks, animal feed processing and home appliance factories, as well as hotel projects, vacation homes, and commercial buildings.

In the first half of 2025 alone, the Royal Government has provided incentives to a total of 118 projects, which include 51 stalled buildings, 54 new projects, 8 expansions, and 5 existing projects. This proactive approach reflects the government’s commitment to fostering a robust investment landscape in Sihanoukville, encouraging sustainable economic development and job creation.
