Surge in Construction Projects for Early 2025

In an encouraging development for the real estate sector, the Ministry of Land, Urban Planning and Construction has approved 1,300 new construction projects in the first four months of 2025, covering a substantial area of 6.68 million square meters. This marks a significant 18% increase in project approvals compared to the same period last year, which saw 1,099 projects approved.

The recently released socio-economic trend report by the Ministry of Economy and Finance highlights not only the number of new construction initiatives but also the expansive growth in the total construction area. The latest figures reveal a remarkable 130% increase in area compared to the previous year.

However, the report does not provide details on the investment amounts associated with these proposals, leaving industry analysts eager for more insight into the financial implications of this construction boom.

For context, in 2024, the Ministry had approved a total of 3,243 construction projects, reflecting a modest 1% increase, while the total area approved was 13.53 million square meters, representing a 3% growth from 2023.

As the construction sector rebounds, stakeholders are keenly watching these trends, which signify a robust recovery and optimism in the market moving forward. Stay tuned for more updates on the evolving landscape of urban development.
