Takeo Dam Reaches 30% Completion, Set to Boost Irrigation for 116 Farming Families

Construction of the Techo Sen Institute Reservoir Dam in Takeo Province has reached approximately 30% completion. Upon its full completion, the project is expected to increase irrigation capacity for an additional 150 hectares of farmland.

This progress was confirmed during a site visit on November 18, 2025. The inspection of the construction progress was led by Mr. Thang Viyuthda, Director of the Department of Engineering, representing H.E. Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology.

The Techo Sen Institute Reservoir Dam is located in Trapeang Kranhung Commune, Tram Kak District, Takeo Province. Construction work began on October 6, 2025. The project’s main tasks include: constructing a reservoir dam measuring 130 meters in length, and building a total of two auxiliary civil engineering structures. As of now, the overall work progress is estimated at 30%.

During the occasion, Mr. Thang Viyuthda, Director of the Department of Engineering, instructed the construction team to meticulously adhere to technical standards and accelerate the work to achieve the planned schedule.

The Ministry of Water Resources stated that the purpose of building the Techo Sen Institute Reservoir Dam is to store water for the daily use of residents in the area. Once completed, the project will provide supplementary irrigation to approximately 116 farming families in 150 hectares of farmland in Trapeang Kranhung village, Trapeang Kranhung Commune, Tram Kak District, Takeo Province.
