Techo Int’l Airport construction progress reaches 44% completion

The construction of Phnom Penh’s Techo International Airport has reached over 44% completion, according to HE Nou Peng Chandara, Deputy Governor of Kandal Province. Speaking at a press conference on “Five Years of Success of Kandal Provincial Administration” on 30 March 2023.

HE Chandara provided an update on the settlement of land disputes, saying that the authorities are currently working to resolve any issues affecting the project. He added that 63.1% of the total area, equivalent to 1,640 hectares, had been settled.

According to him, the settlement of land disputes with residents covered more than 302 hectares, equivalent to 11%, while the land owned by the company was more than 657 hectares, equivalent to 25.26%.

Furthermore, HE Chandara highlighted that the construction of the road connecting NR 2 and Samdech Techo Blvd. to the airport, which is 13.5 km long, has reached more than 35% completion.

The Techo International Airport, which is invested by Cambodia Airport Investment Co Ltd (CAIC) under a total investment capital of approximately US$1.5 billion, is being constructed by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd. The project covers an area of 2,600 hectares. (read more )
