Temporary Opening of Morodok Techo Flyover Ahead of Khmer New Year 2025

To enhance urban mobility and alleviate traffic congestion in the capital, the Cambodian government has temporarily opened the first floor of the much-anticipated “Morodok Techo” flyover before the Khmer New Year celebrations 2025.

The construction of the flyover (Phase 2, Floor 1) has progressed significantly, reaching the concrete pouring stage on December 17, 2024. This milestone was marked by a ceremony attended by His Excellency Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh Municipal Government, alongside Mr. Pung Khev Se, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Cambodian Overseas Investment Company (OCIC), the project’s developer.

Designed to ease traffic flows and boost travel convenience for residents, the Morodok Techo flyover is expected to contribute positively to the local economy. It aims to reduce transportation costs and enhance income opportunities while promoting a fair distribution of economic benefits among citizens.

This latest project follows the successful connection of the Morodok Techo Flyover (Phase 1, Floor 2) on January 29, 2024, temporarily inaugurated on April 1, 2024. The Skybridge project, an essential part of the broader Morodok Techo initiative, commenced construction on August 31, 2022, with a planned development timeline of 36 months.
