Construction Progress of NR33 Reaches Almost 20%

The construction of NR33, which connects Kampot to Chrak Lok, has achieved 19% completion as of 3 March 2023, according to the inspection conducted by the working group of the project implementation unit of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (PIU) on 24 March 2023.

During the inspection, the team evaluated the technical and safety aspects of the construction site to ensure that the road is built according to the standards and for the common benefit of the people.

The project, which began construction on 30 December 2022, along with NR31, is set to be completed in 2026. It is planned to cost more than $61 million, funded by a concessional loan from the Chinese government, along with the contribution of the Cambodia Government to address issues resulting from this road construction, including impact and taxes.

Once completed, this project is expected to provide convenience and ease of access to the local community and tourists alike. (Read more)
