Gov’t Greenlights Four New Factories with US$13m Investment, Paving the Way for 782 New Jobs in Svay Rieng & SHV

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has given its stamp of approval for four new dynamic companies to establish factories, with a total investment of US$13 million. This bold move is set to open the gateway to economic prosperity in Svay Rieng and Sihanoukville provinces.

The CDC made this announcement on 27 October 2023. The CDC’s decision is underpinned by its commitment to fostering economic growth and generating employment opportunities in key provinces.

The four enterprising companies poised to invest in Cambodia’s economic landscape are:

  1. JIANMIN FILTER (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD: With an investment of US$5.7 million, this company is embarking on the establishment of a state-of-the-art factory specializing in the production of spare parts for vacuum cleaners, air conditioners, filters, and water purifiers. This factory will call the Tai Seng Bavet Special Economic Zone in Svay Rieng province home and is set to bring about 313 employment opportunities.
  2. METENDA METAL (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD: With an investment amounting to US$5 million, this company is diving headfirst into metallurgical processing and manufacturing. Located within the Cambodian-Sino Metal League Metropolitan Special Economic Zone in Sihanoukville, this venture is expected to create 323 jobs.
  3. HUANDA COCOA FOOD CO., LTD: With an investment of US$1.3 million, this company is spearheading a cocoa production facility. This sweet enterprise will set up shop in the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone in Sihanoukville province, paving the way for 42 job opportunities.
  4. HAINING NUOHE NEW MATERIAL CO., LTD: To the tune of US$1 million, this company is gearing up to establish a packaging facility. Nestled within the Cambodian Special Economic Zone in Sihanoukville, this project is primed to create 104 jobs.
