The Ministry of Environment, in collaboration with the Administration of Koh Kong Province, is lending support to investment initiatives aimed at establishing expansive natural aquaculture, agro-tourism, and ecotourism projects. These ventures are set to encompass a vast area of 7,126.93 hectares, strategically located in five distinct locations within the pristine Botum Sakor National Park and multi-use areas, including Dang Peng, Tanon commune, Thmor Sor Commune, and Andong Teuk Commune in Botum Sakor District, Koh Kong Province.

During a pivotal meeting presided over by the Ministry of Environment on 26th May 2023, the working group unanimously resolved to extend support to the company’s ambitious investment undertaking.

Furthermore, the group has been tasked with conducting a comprehensive reassessment of the actual project locations and submitting a detailed report on the findings to the Ministry of Environment. This report will serve as a vital assessment tool in determining the feasibility of acquiring a land lease for investment purposes.

To facilitate the investment process, the Ministry of Environment is committed to providing the company with accurate data and maps delineating the designated investment land plots. These invaluable resources will serve as a foundational framework for the company’s thorough examination of the remaining land available for investment application.

The government’s unwavering support for these far-reaching aquaculture and ecotourism endeavors highlights its commitment to promoting sustainable development and preserving the natural beauty of the Botum Sakor District. By endorsing these investment projects, the government aims to unlock the province’s immense potential for eco-friendly economic growth, while ensuring the protection and conservation of its rich biodiversity.
