Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport H.E Sun Chanthol said, “The construction of the road is very important for Cambodia. This section of the ASEAN Highway 1 can increase exports and imports and is one of the most potential roads to serve the Cambodian economy. In particular, it can reduce accidents and congestions at a very large scale.”

According to the MPWT Facebook page, the renovation is being undertaken even though the spread of COVID-19 has threatened the construction sector in Cambodia. The workers at the site always obey the guidance of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
