China Provides Over US$23m Fund for Cambodia’s Demining in Past 8 years

The Chinese government has provided US$13.2 million in grants to support CMAC’s three-year demining activities (2023-2025), while providing over US$10 million for a similar purpose from 2018 to 2022, according to CMAC Director Heng Ratana on 12 February. 

Aid for 2023 was provided during Prime Minister Hun Sen’s visit to China, where 12 agreements were signed including a grant agreement for “Chinese Aid for Demining Action.”  

Since 2018, the Chinese government has provided assistance twice, US$2.5 million for 2018-2019 and US$7.5 million for 2020-2022.
