Transport Minister Urges US Firms to Engage More in Infrastructure Development

The Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol has placed high hopes on the US private sector gradually becoming further involved in the Kingdom’s infrastructure development, by urging US firms to consider bidding for more public projects in Cambodia.

HE Sun Chanthol made the remarks in an online meeting on 20 October with the delegation from the ASEAN-US Business Council (US-ABC).

In the meeting, he emphasised the importance of private sector participation in the development of infrastructure as well as the national economy.

“At the moment, we have yet to see any US firms participating in the bidding process for the infrastructure construction projects. Thus, we wish to see their participation, if possible,” said HE Sun Chanthol.

Additionally, he also encouraged US companies to consider investing in the development of Cambodia’s infrastructure.
