Two New Factories Worth Over US$10 million Approved for Kandal and Phnom Penh

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has recently approved private firms to invest in building two factories, worth a total budget of approximately US$10 million in Kandal and Phnom Penh.

The first investment permit has been granted to Impak (Cambodia) Co., Ltd to invest US$5million in building a suitcase and bag factory in Damnak Koh village, Samrong Leu commune, Ang Snoul district, Kandal province.

The second is Wing Cheng Packaging Co., Ltd, which will invest US$5.6 million to build a factory producing cardboard boxes, paper boxes, paper bags and all printing products in Chung Ruk village, Sangkat Trapeang Krasaing, Khan Pou Sen Chey.

These two aforementioned investment projects will create over 840 jobs for Cambodians, according to the CDC.

From the beginning of 2021 to early May, the CDC has already approved at least 27 major projects, including the above projects, with total investment capital of almost US$2.2 billion.
