Two Private Firms Approved to Mine Over 20,000 hectares in Tbong Khmum and Ratanakkiri

On 21 December, the Ministry of Mines and Energy issued licenses for two private firms to continue their mining activities on over 20,000 hectares in Tbong Khmum and Ratanakkiri provinces.

The first company is Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) Limited, who got permission to mine within the area of 107.1 square kilometres in Memot district of Tbong Khmum province.

Meanwhile, approval was given to Original Wisdom Consulting Services (Cambodia) Investment Co., Ltd., who received the green light to mine with an area of 100 square kilometres in the Phnom Pang area of Ou Ya Dav district in Ratanakiri province.

Tbong Khmum and Ratanakkiri are the two high potential provinces for mining. Since September 2020, the Ministry of Mines and Energy has opened for both national and international companies to apply for mine exploration licenses in these provinces. (Read more)
