UNDP Pledges to Help Cambodia Raise More Funds for Clean Energy Projects

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Cambodia has pledged to seek technical and financial assistance from other partners for the development of Cambodia’s energy sector, particularly on energy efficiency and climate change mitigation projects.

The remarks were made by UNDP Cambodia Director Ms Alissar Chaker in a meeting with Minister of Mines and Energy HE Suy Sem on Tuesday 30 November.

Both parties discussed the current and future vision of the ministry and priority projects related to the development of energy efficiency projects, opportunities, and new initiatives.

UNDP and Cambodia have also pledged to further strengthen the cooperation on clean energy projects.

On this occasion, HE Suy Sem also provided a summary of the key developments within the energy sector, the master plan for future development, the national policy on power efficiency, and Cambodia’s position related to climate issues.
