Kampong Speu to host SEA Games events in new US$2 stadium

An international standard stadium will be built in Kampong Speu province ahead of Cambodia hosting the 2023 ASEAN Games. An event hosted by the Kind Hearts foundation of Naga World on 19 November raised US$2 million to fund the stadium’s construction.

Located in Tamol village in Chabar Mon town, Kampong Speu province, the stadium complex will be built across 4 hectares.

In his speech at the event, Hun Many, lawmaker in Kampong Speu province and Naga World’s representative said the stadium construction is to a contribution to the young generation in the sports sector.

Vy Samnang, Governor of Kampong Speu province, confirmed that the stadium will be used to host sporting activities at the SEA Games in 2023.

Cambodia has been preparing significant infrastructure for the SEA Games, such as the US$160 million Morodok Techo National Stadium, the Koh Thom swimming pool, the AGT project, and the international swimming pool in Battambang province.
