VINCI Secures Management of Techo International Airport, Expanding Presence in Cambodia’s Aviation Sector

French conglomerate VINCI has successfully acquired the management rights for the Techo International Airport in Takhmao City, further expanding its footprint in Cambodia’s aviation sector.

The company, which already operates Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport, and Sihanoukville International Airport, has now added the Techo Takhmao International Airport to its portfolio. This acquisition was confirmed by a report from Radio France Internationale on 27 August 2024.

HE Sin Chanserywatha, Spokesman of Cambodian Civil Aviation, explained that the decision to grant VINCI the rights to manage the new Techo Krong Takhmao International Airport was based on the company’s impressive track record over the past two decades of operations in Cambodia.

“The decision to authorise VINCI to manage the new ‘Techo Krong Takhmao International Airport’ was based on their past performance under the contract between VINCI and the Cambodian government,” he said, indicating confidence in VINCI’s capability to manage the airport effectively.

Scheduled to officially open in 2025, the Techo Takhmao International Airport is Cambodia’s fourth airport and a significant infrastructure development aimed at bolstering the nation’s aviation capacity. Construction of the airport is currently 82% complete, with the project expected to be fully finished by October 2024. This new addition is anticipated to further enhance Cambodia’s connectivity and foster economic growth in the region. (Read more)
