VINCI Airports Corp. Expands Commitment to Sustainable Development in Cambodia

In a significant move to bolster Cambodia’s economic growth and sustainability, VINCI Airports Corp. has expressed keen interest in expanding its investments, particularly in the sectors of clean energy and clean water. This commitment was highlighted during a meeting between Prime Minister Hun Manet and Nicolas NOTEBAERT, President of VINCI Airports and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SCA.

During the meeting, NOTEBAERT emphasized the potential for collaboration between VINCI and the Royal Government, underscoring a win-win scenario that would mutually benefit economic development and enhance the quality of life for Cambodians. The company aims to leverage its expertise to contribute to the nation’s socio-economic progress, aligning its initiatives with Cambodia’s developmental goals.

Prime Minister Hun Sen welcomed VINCI Airports’ prior successes in the country, which have significantly fueled national economic growth and enhanced Cambodia’s international tourism landscape. His support for the company’s expansion plans underscores the government’s commitment to fostering partnerships with the private sector for sustainable growth.

“I encourage VINCI Airports to maintain close collaboration with our relevant ministries and institutions,” the Prime Minister stated. “The Royal Government is dedicated to facilitating your investments and ensuring a thriving environment for your continued success in Cambodia.”

The meeting also shed light on the impressive growth in air passenger numbers, which have surged nearly 40-fold since 1995, reflecting the increasing connectivity and appeal of Cambodia as a travel destination. Representatives from VINCI Airports discussed the company’s ongoing preparations for the launch of Techo International Airport, an infrastructure milestone poised to further elevate the country’s tourism and economic sectors.
