Virak Buntham Unveils Ambitious Plan to Transform Koh Sneh Beach into Premier Tourist Destination

Virak Buntham, a prominent player in Cambodia’s tourism sector, has announced a significant investment in the development of Koh Sneh Beach, located in Khemarak Phoumin City, Koh Kong province. The company aims to elevate the beach into the premier tourist destination in the province, unveiling plans for extensive resort development and recreational facilities.

Neak Oknha Sour Virak, General Director of Virak Buntham Express, revealed the ambitious vision to transform the coastal area of Khemarak Phoumin into a sought-after beach resort. The proposed development includes the construction of beachfront resorts, swimming pools, tourist ports, and other amenities to enhance the visitor experience.

The investment initiative garnered attention when Mr Ouk Pheaktra, Deputy Governor of Koh Kong Province, shared the news on his official Facebook page on 6 May 2024. Recognising the potential of Koh Sneh Beach as an untapped tourist hotspot, provincial authorities have extended their full support to the project.

During a comprehensive review of the investment proposal, the deputy governor emphasised the importance of adhering to legal procedures. This entails establishing a dedicated working group to conduct site assessments, securing land lease permits from the Cambodian Coastal Area Management & Development Committee, and devising comprehensive plans for infrastructure development and land use management.

Upon completion, the revitalised Royal City of Khemarak will boast a vibrant entertainment hub poised to attract a surge of tourists. Furthermore, with the imminent completion of National Road No. 48 and National Road No. 10, Koh Kong is primed to welcome a significant influx of visitors, positioning the Royal Khmer City as a key destination on Cambodia’s tourism map.
