Win-win Memorial Set to Open in December

The Cambodia’s peace symbol building “Win-Win Memorial” is set to inaugurate on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the government’s win-win policy which will take place on December 29, 2018, according Fresh News.

On August 7, 2018, deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense H.E. General Tea Banh, had attended the meeting to follow up on the progress of the construction of the “Win-Win Memorial” which is located in Chroy Changvar district (about 600 meters from Ly Yong Phat Roundabout), Phnom Penh .

According to the same source, the construction of the memorial is more than 80% completed, while the sculptures related to the historical event especially during the time when the current government overthrow the Pol Pot regime in 1979 have been carved.

Serving as a peace symbol of Cambodia, the Win-Win Memorial will also stock historical documents for the younger generation to research on historical event especially during the time when Cambodia undergone a ruthless war which killed millions of lives.

The memorial covers an area of 8 hectares of land which construction started in 2016.
