World Bank to Fund Construction of New Standard Landfill in Kandal Province

The Kandal Provincial Administration has selected the Prek Reang area in Saang district, Kandal province to establish a standardised landfill to improve solid and plastic waste management throughout the province.

Director of the General Administration Department of the Ministry of Interior HE Prak Sam Oeun and Kandal Governor Kong Sophoan co-inspected the site on Friday 20 August.

According to HE Sam Oeun, this project will be implemented under the World Bank financing aid and will be built following the proper technical standards that will not affect public health.

“The location of Prek Reang is ideal for this project, as the area is the government land and match all the technical requirement for landfill,” he added.
