The construction of the Preah Monivong flyover, the first circular flyover in Cambodia, has been 11% completed as the technical team is currently drilling 219 pillars on Samdech Techo Hun Sen Blvd and Preah Monivong Blvd.

Mr Sam Piseth, Director of the Department of Public Works and Transport of Phnom Penh, told BTV on 7 February that the construction company is currently drilling the foundation of the Preah Monivong flyover. To date, 25 pillars have been drilled, which is 11.41% of the total.

The NR1 zone of the project, which is the area around Hun Sen Blvd, is going smoothly. However, the NR2 zone faces difficulties due to some protests.

In the N3 zone along Preah Monivong Blvd, three foundations have been drilled, while the rest will be done after the impact resettlement. However, the work on St. 271 has yet to start.

The Preah Monivong flyover is being built by OCIC at a cost of more than US$36 million and will take 36 months to be completed. It is located at the intersection of Samdech Techo Hun Sen Blvd., Monivong Blvd. and St. 217 in Khan Chamkarmon and Khan Meanchey. (Read more)
