Australia Assists Cambodia with Urban Wastewater Solution

The Australian Water Community (AWA) has partnered with the Cambodian Ministry of Public Works and Transport to develop urban wastewater planning and management. 

Both parties hosted a two-day workshop held on 6-7 December to study the current and future challenges of wastewater and to find solutions to the sanitation problems caused by rapid urbanisation. 

Sally Armstrong, AWA’s Head of International Program and Industry, said the workshop provided a unique platform to connect Australian and Cambodian wastewater professionals. 

“AWA members have experience in the field of wastewater and would like to share this experience and success with Cambodian experts,” said Ms Armstrong. 

She added that the workshop also provided an opportunity for both Australia and Cambodia to understand better each other’s current and future water pollution challenges and to collaborate in the future. 

The Australian Water Community (AWA) is Australia’s largest network of water experts and includes policymakers, scientists, researchers, designers and engineers.
