PM urges more French companies to invest in Cambodia

Cambodia PM Samdech Hun Sen has called on French companies to further study and seek more investment opportunities in Cambodia to maximize the benefits of bilateral and multilateral cooperations, especially in food processing, medicine and pharmaceuticals, light manufacturing, and automotive sectors.

PM Hun Sen made the remark in a meeting organized by MEDEF International in Paris on 13 December, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

In the meeting, PM Hun Sen highlighted the possibility that Cambodia can recover from the COVID-19 crisis quickly while maintaining economic resilience that has allowed Cambodia to remain a high-potential investment destination in the region.

He also ensured that all investors will have a favourable investment environment, macroeconomic stability and a transparent legal framework.

France was a cornerstone investor in Cambodia during the rebuilding of the country in the early 1990s, building airports, hospitals, roads, and schools. At the present time, France focuses more on soft infrastructure and human capacity development.
