Phnom Penh’s Skyline Set to Soar: Prek Pra Bridge Project Gears Up for 2023 Commencement

The highly anticipated Prek Pra bridge project is poised to break ground in 2023 as negotiations reach the final stages. This news was revealed by Samdech Hun Manet, PM of Cambodia during the inauguration ceremony of “Twin Dragon Bridge, Koh Nora, and the concrete cable bridge connecting Koh Nora Development Zone to Koh Pich Development Zone” on the afternoon of 15 November 2023. The PM highlighted the city’s impressive portfolio of eight existing bridges, with plans to add three more, including the pivotal Noble King Bridge – Night Market connection.  (Read more)

He emphasized that the Prek Pra bridge, once construction commences in 2023, will join the city’s evolving infrastructure landscape, alongside the ongoing Lower Mekong-Chak Angre Leu bridge project. (Read more)

The PM underscored that these strategic additions will not only enhance connectivity but also stimulate economic activity in the burgeoning east of Phnom Penh.

The Prek Pra Bridge project, meticulously studied by the Phnom Penh Capital Administration since December 2019, aims to intricately plan the construction of a bridge across the Bassac River at the geographical confluence of Sangkat Prek Pra and Sangkat Chak Angre. (Read more)
