Cambodia & United States Commit to Expanding Bilateral Trade Relations

 

In a significant move to bolster economic ties, Cambodia and the United States have engaged in constructive discussions focused on enhancing bilateral trade and investment. This initiative was highlighted during a series of meetings on 15 May 2025, involving HE Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, U.S. Congresswoman Carol Miller, and Senator Tammy Duckworth.

During the high-level discussions, the leaders explored strategies to strengthen cooperation aimed at attracting increased U.S. investment into Cambodia. Both sides expressed a commitment to not only enhancing existing partnerships but also identifying new opportunities to solidify the collaboration between the two nations for mutual benefit.

The dialogue comes at a time when Cambodia’s trade volume is on the rise. In the first two months of 2025, the country’s international trade reached approximately USD 9.44 billion, marking a notable 16.3% increase from the same period in 2024. The United States remains a key trading partner, with Cambodian exports to the U.S. valued at USD 1.626 billion. (Read more)
