Cambodia Attracts Over USD 350 Million in New Investments Across Four Provinces

In a significant boost to its economy, Cambodia has recently received applications for seven new investment projects, totaling approximately $350 million. The Council for the Development of Cambodia announced this development during a meeting on July 30, 2025. The projects are set to launch in Kandal, Takeo, Kampong Chhnang, and Tbong Khmum provinces.

His Excellency Chea Vuthy, Secretary-General of the Committee for Investment of Cambodia, highlighted that these ventures will not only inject substantial capital into the local economy but are also expected to create around 4,000 jobs. The investment portfolio includes a focus on one agro-industrial sector—rubber processing—alongside eight industrial sectors, which encompass the manufacturing of sports equipment, dolls, cement, and home electrical appliances, as well as sawdust businesses and the production of decorative lamps and accessories.

This latest investment is part of a broader trend, as Cambodia has approved 373 new projects in the first half of 2025, with a remarkable total investment capital reaching 5.8 billion VND—an impressive 77% increase compared to the previous period. These projects are anticipated to generate approximately 250,000 jobs for Cambodian citizens, according to the Council for the Development of Cambodia’s report issued on July 7, 2025.

This influx of investment reflects growing confidence in Cambodia’s economic prospects and its potential as a regional hub for various industries.
