Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurs Unite to Boost SME Development

In a significant move to enhance the landscape for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Cambodia, the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and the Cambodian Entrepreneurs (KE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 2, 2025. This collaboration aims to foster a sustainable ecosystem beneficial for entrepreneurs and startups across the nation.

During the signing ceremony, Mr. Oknha Kith Meng, President of the CCC and Chairman of the ASEAN Business Consultative Council for Cambodia, emphasized the importance of the MoU in establishing a framework for cooperation. He highlighted the shared commitment of both organizations to promote and support the development of SMEs in Cambodia.

H.E. Chhieng Vanmonin, Executive Director of Entrepreneurs of Cambodia, noted that this partnership provides a valuable channel for Cambodian entrepreneurs to advance the Royal Government’s policies and initiatives. The extensive network of the CCC, including the Provincial Chambers of Commerce, will play a crucial role in enhancing support for SMEs.

The MoU is particularly noteworthy as it builds upon previous collaborations that began in 2022, which have successfully assisted around 4,629 business owners through various training sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities designed to expand market reach.

With over 750,000 local micro, small, and medium enterprises making up 63% of the country’s GDP and accounting for more than 70% of employment, the growth of this sector is vital for Cambodia’s economic development. This was recently underscored by Samdech Thibault Hun Manet during the first National Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Day on June 27. (Read more)
