The development of Cambodia’s healthcare education and service capacity reached a new milestone as construction of the University of Health Sciences Hospital was reported to be nearly 60% complete. This progress was confirmed during the third joint progress review meeting held on April 29, 2026, which focused on evaluating the construction timeline and the integration of essential medical systems. The project, which officially broke ground on December 9, 2024, represents a strategic investment in the future of medical training and specialized care within the Kingdom.

Led by Her Excellency Dr. Youk Sambath, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, the high-level meeting brought together key stakeholders to assess various facets of the hospital’s development. Beyond the physical structure, the discussions emphasized a holistic approach to hospital management, covering technical training for staff, the procurement and installation of modern medical equipment, and the implementation of advanced electronic hospital management systems. These components are vital for ensuring that once the facility is finished, it can provide high-quality services that meet international standards.
