Dara Sakor International Airport Nears Completion, Scheduled to Open Mid-2023

The highly anticipated Dara Sakor International Airport, invested by China’s Union Development Group, has reached over 90% completion as of 31 March 2023, with over US$180 million spent on the project.

This is according to H.E. Sinn Chanserey Vutha spokesman and undersecretary of the state Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) told Construction and Property on 19 April 2023.

“By the Q1 of 2023, Dara Sakor International Airport has completed approximately 90.5% and the airport is expected to be officially inaugurated in the middle of 2023, barring any unforeseen issues,” H.E. Chanserey Vutha noted.

Spanning across 218 hectares, the airport’s construction began in 2017 and is projected to be completed within 48 months.

Her Excellency Mithona Phouthorng, the governor of Koh Kong province where the airport is located, has recently assured the public that there will be no further delays to the planned mid-2023 start of operations.  (Read more)
