PHNOM PENH, April 6, 2026 — Construction of the National Water Resources and Meteorological Data Management Center, a flagship project for Cambodia’s digital governance, has reached a significant milestone with nearly 60% of the work now complete. The progress was confirmed during an on-site inspection led by His Excellency Chan Sinath, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology and the project’s director, on April 6, 2026.

Located within the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology complex at Kbal Thnal, the facility has specifically reached 59% completion. During his visit, H.E. Chan Sinath emphasized that consistent monitoring is vital to ensuring the project remains on schedule and strictly adheres to the technical standards required for a structure of such national importance. This rigorous oversight aims to guarantee the center’s long-term durability and its ability to serve as a cornerstone of the nation’s infrastructure.

Once operational, the center will play a pivotal role in modernizing Cambodia’s water and weather management. By transitioning to a unified digital data management system, the facility will provide critical support for high-precision forecasting and strategic planning.
