Golden Port SEZ to Establish 270-Hectare SEZ Along Sihanoukville Expressway

Golden Port SEZ Development Co., Ltd. has unveiled plans to establish a 270-hectare special economic zone along the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, aiming to bolster industrial diversification in Cambodia. The announcement was made following a meeting on 29 July 2024 between Mr. Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Committee, and Mr. Kaing Leng, Chairman of Golden Port SEZ.

Mr. Kaing Leng expressed gratitude to the CDC for providing critical information to aid the investment process and outlined the company’s plan for the special economic zone. Located along the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, this zone is expected to significantly contribute to Cambodia’s industrial landscape.

HE Chea Vuthy welcomed the project and praised its potential to diversify Cambodia’s industrial sector. He encouraged the delegation to explore further investment opportunities within the country. During the meeting, the CDC provided a comprehensive presentation on the development of special economic zones in Cambodia and detailed the investment registration procedures, highlighting the ease of applying for such projects.

As of now, Cambodia hosts 44 special economic zones, which have created jobs for nearly 200,000 people. (Read more)
