Hungary Pledges Support to Boost Foreign Investment in Cambodia

Hungary has vowed to expand its cooperation with Cambodia by actively encouraging foreign investors to explore and pursue business opportunities within the kingdom, aiming to strengthen trade and economic ties. The commitment was expressed by HE Tibor Baloghd, the Hungarian Ambassador to Cambodia, during a meeting with Samdech PM Hun Manet on 23 October 2024.

During the meeting, Ambassador Tibor Baloghd emphasized Hungary’s dedication to promoting investment in Cambodia, noting that such efforts would significantly enhance bilateral trade and business collaboration. He underscored the importance of fostering investor interest to tap into Cambodia’s growing economic landscape.

In response, PM Hun Manet commended the close ties and longstanding cooperation between the two nations, highlighting the establishment of a bilateral consultation mechanism between their foreign ministers to further reinforce diplomatic relations.

The discussions also reaffirmed the mutual commitment to continue advancing partnerships across various sectors, including trade and investment, health, education, tourism, culture, water resources, and irrigation. This pledge marks a step forward in deepening Hungary and Cambodia’s collaboration, aiming to create a more dynamic and integrated economic future for both countries.
