Cambodia Sees Record-Breaking USD 6.9 Billion Investment in 2024

Cambodia has achieved a remarkable milestone in 2024, with the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) approving 414 investment projects worth a total of USD 6.9 billion. This marks a 54% increase in the number of projects compared to 268 in 2023 and a 40% rise in investment capital from USD 4.927 billion in 2023, according to a progress review meeting reported on 20 December 2024.

PM Samdech Hun Manet, who also serves as Chairman of the CDC, chaired the first meeting to review the council’s achievements for 2024 and highlighted Cambodia’s efforts in enhancing its investment environment, fostering economic growth, and ensuring macroeconomic stability.

Deputy Prime Minister and CDC Vice-Chairman Sun Chanthol attributed the sharp increase in investments to Cambodia’s sustained peace, political stability, improved legal frameworks, and proactive governmental support. “The government has been addressing the challenges faced by the private sector to ensure a conducive environment for both domestic and international investors,” underscoring the confidence investors have shown in the country’s economic resilience.
