Darasakor International Port, inaugurate in this year, Set to Transform Koh Kong’s Maritime Landscape

Amidst great anticipation, the inauguration of an internationally acclaimed seaport in Koh Kong province is fast approaching, with plans to commence operations in the middle of this year. The private-owned port, built to impeccable global standards, is set to revolutionize maritime activities in the region, bolstering trade and commerce.

Led by Deputy Governor of Koh Kong Province, I Narynet, a recent meeting was convened to review the necessary procedures for the official opening of the port. In compliance with Cambodian investment law, the provincial administration is diligently working with the company to prepare comprehensive reports for submission to the relevant ministries and the esteemed Office of the Council of Ministers.

“The provincial administration is committed to issuing a letter of support to facilitate the auspicious inauguration of Darasakor International Port,” stated Deputy Governor I Narynet.

Invested by Koh Kong Port Management, the port is strategically located in Koh Sdach commune, within the esteemed Kiri Sakor district of Koh Kong province. Boasting impressive capacity, the facility is well-equipped to handle the storage and transfer of tens of thousands of tons of cargo annually.

According to Governor Lok Chumteav Mithona Phuthong of Koh Kong Province, the highly anticipated first international seaport in the province, known as Dara Sakor, is slated for a grand opening during the second half of 2023. This groundbreaking development, as reported by the Phnom Penh Post, is expected to unleash a new era of prosperity and economic growth in the region.

The imminent inauguration of Darasakor International Port signifies a remarkable milestone for Koh Kong, heralding unprecedented opportunities for trade expansion, job creation, and elevated connectivity. With its cutting-edge infrastructure and strategic location, the port is poised to become a pivotal hub of maritime activity, fostering regional development and cementing Koh Kong’s status as a key player in the global trade arena.
