Kampot Cement Operations Reach 2 Million Ton Capacity to Fuel Cambodia’s Infrastructure Growth

Cambodia’s domestic industrial base continues to play a vital role in powering the Kingdom’s rapid physical infrastructure development, led by Kampot Cement, the country’s first and largest cement manufacturing facility. Situated in Kampot province, the state-of-the-art industrial plant maintains a robust production capacity of approximately 2 million metric tons per year. On July 28, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia HE Sun Chanthol led a senior government delegation on a comprehensive inspection tour of the manufacturing complex.

The high-level visit was conducted to inspect daily operations across the facility, review supply chain management practices, and observe the application of advanced technologies designed to maintain international quality control standards. During the tour, HE Sun Chanthol emphasized that the government’s direct engagement reflects its unwavering commitment to ensuring that industrial enterprises thrive sustainably while encouraging further investment expansion within Cambodia’s manufacturing sector.

Beyond production efficiency, the delegation focused heavily on the plant’s ecological impact. HE Sun Chanthol commended Kampot Cement for its proactive environmental initiatives and rigorous commitment to eco-friendly manufacturing practices. By integrating modern environmental safeguards into its core operations, the facility effectively protects local ecosystems and safeguards the health and well-being of surrounding communities.

Since commencing commercial operations in 2006, Kampot Cement has served as a cornerstone of Cambodia’s heavy industry. By generating 2 million tons of high-grade cement annually, the enterprise meets a substantial portion of national construction demand, significantly reduces dependence on foreign cement imports, and provides essential building materials for key physical infrastructure projects across the Kingdom.
