His Excellency Phon Rim highlighted the project’s importance, noting that it is currently progressing well, with a completion target slated for mid-August 2028.

The construction of another significant structure, the Mekong River Crossing Bridge (Clay-Thoma Kor), was inaugurated on June 7, 2023, under the patronage of His Excellency Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister and current President of the Senate, alongside His Excellency Wang Wentian, former Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Cambodia.

The Clay-Thoma Kor Bridge features a robust concrete design, stretching a total length of 3,700 meters, with a main bridge span of 1,600 meters and a width of 26 meters, accommodating four lanes of traffic. The approach road to the bridgehead runs 2,100 meters long, also measuring 26 meters wide, and is paved with asphalt concrete (AC).

Financed by development partners through the Fund for Support Funds, the major bridge construction project commenced on June 7, 2023, with a construction timeline of 48 months, aiming for completion by the end of 2028.
