Montana Fly Co. Chooses Cambodia as Global Production Hub

In a significant development for Cambodia’s economy, Montana Fly Co., Ltd., a renowned US manufacturer, has officially designated the country as its primary production base for global operations. This announcement was made during a meeting between HE Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and Mr. Adam Trina, CEO of the company, on 5 May 2024.

According to a press release following the meeting, Montana Fly, through its wholly owned subsidiary Fishing Fly Cambodia Co., Ltd., is set to enhance its investment in the region. The company’s decision is influenced by several favourable factors in Cambodia, including the Cambodian government’s pro-business policies allowing foreign investors to maintain 100% ownership of their enterprises. Additionally, ongoing investments in logistics infrastructure and a skilled, adaptable workforce proficient in English have contributed to this strategic move.

Montana Fly is acclaimed as the world’s largest manufacturer of fishing lures and bait, supplying its products to markets in North America and the European Union. Currently, the company employs around 650 individuals in Cambodia and is committed to further expanding its production capabilities in the country.

This initiative is expected to boost local employment and strengthen Cambodia’s presence in the global fishing industry, reinforcing the nation’s reputation as an attractive destination for foreign investment.
