New $20M Dry Port Proposal to Boost Trade and Jobs at Cambodia-Vietnam Border

PREY VENG, Cambodia – S.S.R Co., Ltd. has proposed the establishment of a dry port in Prey Veng province with an investment capital of over $20 million.

The company’s investment proposal is for a dry port located in Krabao Commune, Kamchay Mear District, Prey Veng Province. This information was provided by H.E.

Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodia Investment Committee, during his inspection visit on November 20, 2025, when he led an inter-ministerial commission to examine the proposed dry port site.

This dry port project is the first of its kind being planned for development in the region, with an estimated investment of over $20 million covering an area of more than 10 hectares. H.E. Chea Vuthy stated that the project will significantly support future cross-border goods transportation activities at the Meun Chey International Border Gate between Cambodia and Vietnam. It is also expected to generate numerous job opportunities for local residents.

During the visit, H.E. Chea Vuthy also inspected the Meun Chey International Border Gate to observe the overall development and progress in the area. He highlighted the readiness of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) to collaborate with all relevant parties, particularly the Prey Veng Provincial Administration, in promoting the investment potential of this region to both national and international investors.

The dry port project, with its over $20 million investment, will include the construction of necessary infrastructure and supporting facilities, such as office buildings, commercial buildings, goods exchange areas, container storage yards, and warehouses.
