New Aquaculture, Eco-Tourism Project Set for Prey Chhor, Kampong Cham

Private firm Pharath Rattanak has recently received a permit to invest in building a new aquaculture and eco-tourism project on over 7 hectares of land in Chok Boeung Thom in Prey Chhor district, Kampong Cham province, according to Kampong Cham Governor HE Un Chanda on 25 February.

This large-scale project is divided into four parts, of which three parts are related to aquaculture including the construction of infrastructure to promote fish breeding, the establishment of standardised fish farms, and the construction of laboratories and fish feed factories.

Meanwhile, the fourth part is to promote tourism by building a new biodiversity exhibition centre and a rare tropical flower garden.

Company representative Oknha Peang Pharath said that this project will help reduce illegal fishing by transferring to modern aquaculture. The project will also help improve the living standards of local farmers by buying products from them.
